ERIDGE PARK, NEAR TUNBRIDGE WELLS, KENT

Eridge Park is a 6,000-acre private Estate on the Kent/Sussex border. The estate has been in the hands of the Nevill family since the Norman conquest and has a rich and fascinating history in its own right. Set in the heart of an area of Outstanding  Natural  Beauty, Eridge Park is an island of peace and tranquillity in an increasingly stressful world. Syndicate members have exclusive access to the lake with secure parking and private facilities within 100 yards of the lake.

The fishery is a 14 acre estate lake created in the 17th century by damming the confluence of two streams within the Estate and guaranteeing superb water quality. The continuous flow gives excellent oxygen levels, even in the hottest summers. The water is very rich in natural food and provides a superb environment in which to grow large and healthy carp. The lake has had much of its original stock of tench removed in March 2000,we plan to repeat this operation every fifth year to remove all unwanted fish.

We have added 40 more twenties to the existing stock supplied by Mark Simmonds, which are renound for their fast growth rates. The fish were stocked in 2000 at between 10 and 14 lbs. These fish are now twenties. We stocked a further 24 twenties that year which are now approaching the 30lb mark. We have also added 6 25lb plus commons and mirrors and have 7 known thirties to complement them. The stock comes to a total of 200. Any double figure carp will be removed in the closed season of the 2006/2007 season.

The membership is limited to 50 experienced anglers and is available on an annual season ticket basis only. No day tickets are available. The cost for the 2006/2007 season is £500.00, with a new members joining fee of £50.00. Given the superb location and the growth potential of the stock, this will be an increasingly sought after ticket over the coming years. If you can find a better complex that Eridge Park, grab it with both hands and take out a life membership.
